The Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum is a magnificent memorial complex dedicated to Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the founding father of modern China. Located on Purple Mountain, the mausoleum features impressive architecture, beautiful gardens, and panoramic views of Nanjing, making it one of the city's most important historical sites.

History

Built between 1926-1929, the mausoleum was designed by architect Lu Yanzhi in a combination of traditional Chinese and modern architectural styles. Dr. Sun Yat-sen's body was moved here in 1929, and the site has since become a symbol of Chinese nationalism and unity. The complex covers 80,000 square meters.
