The Nanjing Confucius Temple (Fuzimiao) is a historic temple complex dedicated to Confucius, located in the heart of the old city. History
Originally built in 1034 during the Song Dynasty, the Confucius Temple has been destroyed and rebuilt several times. The current complex dates from the Ming and Qing dynasties. The area became famous for its examination halls where scholars took imperial civil service exams, and today serves as a cultural and entertainment district.
