History
Originally built during the Ming Dynasty as a military fortress, Hongya Cave has been transformed over centuries into a commercial and residential complex. The current illuminated structure was completed in 2006 and has become one of Chongqing's most recognizable landmarks, often compared to the buildings in the movie 'Spirited Away.'
